Committed - Common Sense - Leadership

Thank you for visiting my Christine Alwood for State Representative website.  Like many of you, I remember when Michigan's economy was vibrant and thriving.  We can get there again, but it will take hard work, tough choices, and common sense.  We must promote job creation and reform Michigan's government while preserving funding for essential services like public safety and education.  I believe in a limited Government that works for the good of the people, and not for its own preservation.  I want my children and grandchildren to experience the Michigan I once knew.  If I'm elected to be your voice in Lansing I'll work tirelessly to secure Michigan's future.  Thank you for your support!

Kevin,

I agree that, as we near the primary election, it is important to share our platforms, ideas and beliefs with the voters of the district.  We've been accomplishing this through door-to-door contact, events and other means of communication.  I was hoping to gather additional information on upcoming local forums/debates for the election cycle so that our discussion could be more productive, but I was unable to confirm many events within your set timeframe for a response.

I was pleased to attend the "We The People" forum, and I understand there will be a Council of Governments Meet the Candidates forum in mid-June. Additionally, each election cycle the League of Women Voters hosts a debate which is usually televised. I don't think it's appropriate for our respective campaigns to plan debates or be involved in the planning, but I will continue to attend debates and/or forums held by neutral community organizations as my campaign schedule allows.

Thanks,

Christine Alwood

$500/person is the maximum contribution allowable by state law. Michigan election law requires candidate committees to report the name, mailing address, occupation and name of employer for each contributor whose contributions aggregate in excess of $100 in an election cycle. Please report the required information.
